(για Ελληνικά, μεταφερθείτε προς τα κάτω)
donkey's milk & clay soap by Stella Crown
Our autumn beauty routine couldn’t do without at least one soap that detoxifies and deeply moisturises our skin. Today’s recipe combines the amazing properties of clays with the exquisite donkey milk; an excellent raw material for cosmetics as it is rich in proteins, ceramides and phospholipids, enhances collagen and acts as an antibacterial :)

Therefore, with this soap we will softly remove pollutants and dead cells while simultaneously we will heal and moisturise our skin, restoring its shine. It is appropriate for both face and body.

recipe for ~100 g/ 3.5 oz
100 g/ 3.5 oz white soap base with donkey milk
5 g/ 0.18 oz clay of your choice (depending on your needs and your skin type)
3 g/ 0.11 oz castor oil
1 g/ 0.04 oz essential oil of your choice or
2,5 g/ 0.09 oz cosmetic fragrance (because of the season I used autumn scents, such as fig, apple, orange, bitter almond, almond milk, pumpkin shuffle)

tools:
silicone mold
cutting surface (board)
knife
beaker
electronic thermometer
electronic scale
spray bottle with alcohol or alcoholic lotion whisker
cling film (plastic wrap)
  • Before we start the preparation process, we sterilise tools, molds and the cutting surface.
  • Weigh the soap base and cut it into cubes on the cutting surface using the knife. Put the soap base cubes in the beaker and place it in a bain marie at a low temperature.
  • When the soap melts, remove from the heat and mix, using the whisker so as to make sure it has melted completely.
  • Add the clay of your choice and mix thoroughly until the powder is completely dissolved in the soap. For better results we can use a coffee mixer for only a few seconds as we don’t want bubbles.
  • Add the castor oil and whisk.
  • Measure the temperature with the electronic thermometer. At 55°C add the fragrance of choice. Whisk again.
  • Spray the beaker with alcohol or alcoholic lotion in order to remove any bubbles. Spray the inside of the silicone mold as well.
  • Pour the soap in the mold and spray again with the alcohol.
  • Wait for the soap to cool down. Once it sets, unmold the soap and wrap it in a plastic wrap, so it doesn’t lose its fragrance and moisture.
  • Use this soap twice a week only. Leave the foam on the skin for about 5 minutes and then rinse well with water.
  • After using the soap, apply our amazing and nutritious aloe vera & fig body cream.
